Our Core Range
Available all year round

Amber Pale (4.4% abv)
Made with Maris Otter pale malt with a touch of crystal, this award-winning pale ale is hopped
exclusively with Goldings sourced from Herefordshire. Flavoursome without being
overpowering, it won beer of the festival, Tamworth CAMRA beer festival September 06.

Original Black Stout (4.0% abv)
A blend of toasted malts give this stout a rich sweet taste, balanced by a light touch of hops
including Saaz and Fuggle. A full flavoured delicious stout, it won a GOLD
medal at the Society of Independent Brewers East Midlands competition in October 2007,
in addition to a silver at the same competition the
previous year

STOP PRESS: Bronze medal at SIBA national awards March 08 - making it one of the top 3 stouts in the country as voted by the brewers!!

Colonial IPA (5.1% abv)
A balanced IPA with toffee malt flavours but not too sweet, against rich American
Northern Brewer hops and the distinctive Styrian Golding.

Available now and again

Imperial Pale Ale (6.5% abv)
A substantial malty base with a big hop character from dry hopping in the cask, this
robust IPA was a silver medal winner at SIBA 2007. It takes a cue both from the
traditional Burton world-beater and also from the hoppy US craft beers, using a
combination of Nugget and Golding hops.

Seasonal Specials
Limited Availability

Amber Steam Ale
(4.0% abv)
Available March - April

California-style spring ale made with mainly pale malt with biscuit-type overtones from the Amber Malt.
Hopped with American Northern Brewer hops.

Amber Mild
(4.8% abv)
Available in May
Traditional Mild Ale (although less mild in alcohol!) with crystal, amber and chocolate malts and a low hop level.

Summer Bock
(4.5% abv)
Available June - August
Not really a true Bock beer - typically these would be around 7-9% abv which we think is too
much for those easy summer afternoons! Maybe we can call this a 'half-bock', with high maltiness
and copper colours from using Munich Malt. Delicate flavours are added from
noble European hps.

Autumn Gold
(4.8% abv)
Available September - October

Robust Best Bitter hopped with Challenger. We also plan to offer a bottle conditioned
Organic version called 'Organic Gold', although due to limited organic hop availablity
these have to be different from the (non-organic) cask verson

Winter Ruby Ale
(5.1% abv)
Available November - December
A rich dark ale with biscuity overtones, perfect for sipping next to the fireside when the winter nights draw in.
Subtle use of Saaz hops mean they remain in the background and on the finish.
